Sensex is an Indian Index introduced by the BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) on January 1, 1986. Sensex is market Index of 30 well stabilised and financially strong companies listed on BSE. As of September 2017 full market capitalisation of Sensex is US $852 Billion and free float market capitalisation is US $ 469 Billion. The base year of Sensex is 1978-79 and the base value is 100.
